New images of Lightyear, the new original production of Disney and Pixar, come to light in the second trailer for the film. Belonging to the Toy Story saga, the legendary Space Guardian has the original voice of the outstanding actor Chris Evans.
The story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who served as inspiration for the toy, focuses on a new intergalactic adventure where he will face new enemies.
When is Lightyear released in theaters in Latin America?
Lightyear opens on June 16 in all theaters in Latin America. Angus MacLane, director of the film, explained how the idea of telling the story of the beloved character came about.
“Buzz’s world always interested me a lot. In Toy Story there seemed to be an incredible backstory of the character, for being a Space Ranger, that was barely hinted at, and I always wanted to explore it,” he noted.

In addition, he revealed what was the key question that aroused in him the desire to carry out the proposal: “So what I said to present the idea of the film was: ‘What was the film that Andy saw that made me want have a Buzz Lightyear toy?’ I wanted to see that movie, and now I’m lucky enough to be able to do it.”
Lightyear: who do the voices of the characters
In addition to Evans, who is in charge of the voice of Buzz, other celebrities such as Keke Palmer, Dale Soules and Taika Waititi play a group of recruits with big ambitions. While Peter Sohn lent his voice to Sox, the robot that accompanies the protagonist.
The cast is completed by the voices of Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr. MacLane called Lightyear’s cast “a real dream.”
“Each of the artists immediately inhabited the character, which gave us the opportunity to play around a bit during the recording sessions. This resulted in a level of specificity that elevated the material and deepened the relationships between the characters. It was a privilege to work with such a talented and generous cast,” he noted.
Who is in charge of the soundtrack and production of Lightyear
Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino, who was responsible for the soundtracks of titles such as The Batman and Spider-Man: No Way Home, will compose the Lightyear original soundtrack, which will be available from June 17.
Giacchino has a long career at Pixar that allowed him to win notable awards. The musician won an Oscar®, a Golden Globe and a Grammy for the soundtrack of Up – A height adventure. He was also part of productions such as The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Cars 2, Inside Out and Coco, among others.
Finally, the production of the film was in charge of Galyn Susman, who previously participated in the short Toy Story: Forgotten in time.
Lightyear, His arrival on streaming
So far, neither Pixar nor Disney + confirmed the date of Lightyear’s arrival on streaming. However, taking into account the time that other productions have taken to do so to the platforms, we assume that the new film of the Toy Story character lands within 45 to 60 days on Disney Plus. That is, for the fortnight of August this year.
Recently, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness announced his arrival on Disney + for this June 22, 45 days after its theatrical release.
Open your account on Disney+ and you will have access to movies like Spiderman, Lightyear, Cruella and Pinocchio. You can also watch Star Wars series like The Mandalorian, Andor and The Book of Boba Fett.
