Guinness World Records (GWR), the global authority on records, has confirmed today that Colombian singer-songwriter and multiple Grammy award winner Shakira, and 24-year-old DJ and producer Bizarrap, are now Guinness World Record holders for their worldwide success with “BZRP Music Sessions Vol.53”.
The “BZRP Music Sessions” collaboration rewrote Latin music history when the video was uploaded to YouTube on January 12, 2023, and it also:
- Reached 100 million views on YouTube in 2 days and approximately 22 hours.
- Reported 63 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours and over 100 million views in less than three days.
- Was streamed 14,393,342 times on Spotify on January 12, 2023.
- Accumulated 80,646,962 plays on Spotify, representing the sixth-highest number of plays in a week.
To celebrate the artists’ latest achievements, Guinness World Records Official Adjudicator Michael Empric presented Shakira and Bizarrap with their certificates in the dressing room of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” before they took the stage to perform their musical hit.
Shakira and Bizarrap have made history with their collaboration on “BZRP Music Sessions Vol.53,” setting four Guinness World Records for their success. The impressive feat of reaching 100 million views on YouTube in just two days and approximately 22 hours shows the immense popularity of the song and the artists involved. This achievement is a testament to their talent and hard work, and we can’t wait to see what other records they will break in the future.
The song also brought Shakira the following record titles
“BZRP Music Sessions #53” debuted Shakira and Bizarrap at No. 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 on January 28, 2023. Shakira is now the first female vocalist to debut in the Billboard Hot Top 10. 100 with a theme in Spanish. She and she also became the record holder of the titles of:
- The first female artist to replace herself at No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart
- The female artist with the most number of No. 1s on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart (18)
- Female artist with the most cumulative weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (67)
