Chinese brands have made a significant impact on the Colombian EV market. BYD emerged as the top seller with 714 units, followed closely by Zhidou with 420 units. MG, Dongfeng, and JAC also performed well, highlighting the dominance of Chinese manufacturers in this sector.

The most popular electric car in Colombia for 2023 was the Zhidou D2S. This compact and affordable vehicle saw a remarkable increase in demand, with 420 units sold, nearly doubling its sales from the previous year. BYD’s Yuan Plus and Dolphin models were also among the top sellers, appealing to a wide range of consumers looking for efficient and reliable EVs.

Premium and Hybrid Segment

In the premium segment, BMW and Mercedes-Benz led the market with 174 units each, showcasing their robust lineups and the growing interest in luxury EVs. Volvo also made significant strides, particularly with its XC40 and XC60 models, which have been well-received for their performance and features.

The hybrid vehicle market has also seen substantial growth. Toyota continues to dominate this segment, with models like the Corolla Cross and Yaris Cross leading sales. Mazda and Suzuki have also shown strong performances, thanks to their popular hybrid models such as the Mazda CX-30 and Suzuki Swift.
