James Rodríguez is a new Olympiacos player from Greece, the team that opens its arms to him with the illusion of seeing him recover his level.

This Thursday, September 15, Olympiacos FC made official the announcement of the transfer of the footballer from the Colombia team, multi-European champion and winner of a Puskas Award, without a doubt a shining figure for the institution.

As usual, the terms of the contract are not known, neither in duration nor in profits, for which we will have to wait for some leak that will show us business figures.

The Brazilian Marcelo welcomed his “panita” in his networks: “Very happy to be with you again, brother. Welcome James Rodríguez. Let’s go guys!” He wrote:

Qatar and Al-Rayyan are already homeland history for James Rodríguez. The Colombian midfielder was made official this Thursday as a new Olympiacos footballer.

And as expected, the ’10’, who did the impossible to return to the ‘Old Continent’, did not save anything and immediately made it clear that he wants to adorn this challenge with the Greek cast with goals, assists, but especially titles.

In a statement for the local media Mega, Rodríguez left his first impressions for this upcoming challenge and for the return to European football, despite not having returned to the elite. “I only promise to give my best, do things well, win many games and titles. Make goals and assists. To be able to play good football, which is what has characterized me,” James said.

In turn, he added: “I see that the fans are very passionate, I love that a lot, to return to a big club. I wanted to feel those things again, that feeling. I am very excited about this new challenge in my life. It was not a tough decision. It was a good decision.”

This will be the ninth club in Rodríguez’s career, who became known in professional football in Antioquia wearing the Envigado FC shirt (2006-2008).

His first experience in international football was at Banfield (2008-2010), an Argentine team that gave way to Porto (2010-2013) from Portugal.

He then played for Monaco (2013-2014) and after his outstanding appearance in the World Cup in Brazil, he came to Real Madrid, where he spent two periods (2014-2017) and (2019-2020).
