The day of Yaser Asprilla’s debut in England arrived, one of the countries with the most developed football in the world. The Colombian did it in the victory of his team, Watford 1-0 against Burnley, in a duel for the third day of the Championship (Second Division).
The young 18-year-old footballer entered the 78th minute to replace one of the jewels that the Hornets have, the Brazilian Joao Pedro. He had little involvement with the ball, however, as moments later the home team lost a man to an expulsion and Burnley submitted in the final minutes to find an equalizer that never came.
In the midst of the onslaught of Vincent Kompany’s team, Asprilla saw the yellow card after the Dutchman Ian Maatsen was fouled in the right sector. Asprilla was rated 5.9 by SofaScore, as well as having completed 2 of 4 passes and a total of 11 touches.
The former Envigado had already played pre-season games, having scored against Wycombe Wanderers on July 16.
The next game for those led by Robert Edwards will be against Birmingham City, in a championship that they partially lead with 7 points, after two wins and a draw.
