This Tuesday, June 7, the law firm Brown Rudnick announced through his Twitter account that the lawyer Camille Vásquez had been promoted to partner.
“She was a key member of the litigation team,” the post reads, “that won the jury verdict last week for actor Johnny Depp in his libel trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.”
Vásquez has more than 10 years of experience as a trial attorney in high-stakes disputes, including defamation cases, contract disputes, business-related torts, and employment-related claims.
“We are delighted to welcome Camille to the partnership,” said William Baldiga, President and CEO of Brown Rudnick. “Historically, we have reserved this announcement for the end of our fiscal year. But Camille’s performance during Johnny Depp’s trial showed the world that she was ready to take the next step now. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will achieve from her as our new partner.”
For her part, the lawyer who also has Colombian roots, commented: “I am delighted that Brown Rudnick has given me his full vote of confidence by allowing me to join the society.”
Likewise, she said she is proud of the “exceptionally talented team that I had the privilege of leading”, for her the victory of the trial is an example of teamwork and collaboration. “I look forward to continuing to represent Brown Rudnick’s culture of excellence.”
Vásquez graduated from Southwestern Law School in 2010 and received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude (excellence), from the University of Southern California in 2006. The attorney was noted for her strong questions of Heard during the interrogations.
