The dramatic story of Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, the ‘Milwaukee Cannibal’, continues to give the world something to talk about. The details of his crimes, 30 years later, are being told in a Netflix series. However, little is known about Tracy Edwards, the only survivor of the “butcher” who ended up becoming a murderer.

Tracy Edwards is the only man who escaped with his life from the criminal, Jeffrey Dahmer, and even helped the American Police to capture him. He was about to become the 18th victim during a series of murders perpetrated between 1978 and 1991.

Thanks to his testimony and complaint, Jeffrey Dahmer managed to be arrested by the Milwaukee authorities, who found skulls, skeletons, bones and other body parts of his previous victims. There were also photos of his crimes.

The day Tracy Edwards met Jeffrey Dahmer

On July 22, 1991, Edwards was at a bar with his friends when Jeffrey Dahmer approached them and made a proposal. Tracy was the only one of the three men who agreed to go to his apartment for $100.

Back then, 32-year-old Tracy didn’t know what awaited her in a serial killer’s house. Dahmer handcuffed him and took out a knife to violate him, but the young man inadvertently managed to hit the criminal and fled the scene.

The tragic end of Tracy Edwards

Although Tracy Edwards, the only survivor of Jefrey Dahmer, managed to escape and denounce the “Milwaukee Cannibal”, he could not lead a normal life.

During Jeffrey Dahmer’s trial in 1992, in which the criminal was sentenced to 15 life sentences for the murder of 17 men, Tracy Edwards had to testify and recount in great detail what he experienced that night.

Thus, since 2002, Tracy Edwards became a homeless person who went from shelter to shelter. Since then, Jeffrey Dahmer’s survivor has amassed a criminal record for drug possession and robbery.

In 2011, Tracy Edwards was sentenced to prison for killing a man by throwing him off a bridge. The victim’s name was Jonny Jordan and he died before rescuers arrived at the crime scene.

He was 52 years old and was sentenced to spend a year and a half in jail. After that, he served two years of judicial supervision. The whereabouts of Edwards, who is estimated to be around 63 years old, are currently unknown. In the Netflix series, he has yet to rule on his case with Dahmer.

Who was Jeffrey Dahmer’s first victim?

At 18, the “Monster of Milwaukee” had the strange fantasy of having sex with a hitchhiker. And that’s how he met Steven Hicks and picked him up off the road. However, she not only had sex with him, but also beat and murdered him. When trying to get rid of his body, he was stopped by some police officers, to whom he told them that the bags in the back of his car were just garbage.

The policemen believed his alibi, but they did not corroborate it and they let him go. By then, Dahmer was living at his grandmother’s house, so he decided to take Steven Hicks’s body there and hide it in the basement. Years later, he crushed the remains of the corpse and scattered it in his garden. His grandmother never found out.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s End

After two years in prison, the so-called “Milwaukee Monster” died on November 28, 1994. The cause of his death? Murder. A fellow named Christopher Scarver killed him in the middle of a confusing incident in the jail laundry where Dahmer was serving his sentence.

At the time of his death, Dahmer was only 34 years old. Although hypotheses are being considered about the motivations behind his murder, this fact has not yet been fully clarified. Scarver remains in prison for the crimes attributed to him.
